Elsie Lubahn

Elsie Lubahn age 89, of Pine Island died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the Pine Haven Care Center. The funeral service will be on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Stordahl Lutheran Church in rural Zumbrota with Pastor Kathleen Lowery officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island and on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Elsie Ruth Georgia Bailey was born on August 9, 1929 in Rochester, MN to George and Elsie (Karlen) Bailey. Her mother died giving birth to Elsie and Elsie was immediately adopted by Frank and Margaret Weckerling. Elsie grew up on the family farm in New Haven Township, attended country school and graduated from Pine Island High School. On July 24, 1949 she married Wayne J. Lubahn at Stordahl Lutheran Church. They farmed in Roscoe Township until 1989, when they sold the farm and moved to Zumbrota. In 2010 they moved into Evergreen Place in Pine Island. Elsie was an active member of Stordahl Lutheran Church and as her children were growing up, she was active in 4-H. Elsie enjoyed embroidering, baking, playing cards and especially loved to spend time with family and friends.
Elsie is survived by her children, John (Mary) Lubahn of Pine Island, Margie (Gary) Berg of Pine Island, David (Jackie) Lubahn of Eyota, Barbara (Dean) Anderson of Zumbrota and Donna (Jo Brandau) Lubahn of Clear Lake, IA; grandchildren, William (Dawn) Lubahn, Danny (Chelsea) Lubahn, Kathryn Lubahn, Melissa (Jeremy) Thomforde, Jennifer (Matt Moore) Berg, Amanda (Jeremy) Huston and Amy (Wesley) Dohrn; step-grandchildren, Jennifer (Rob) Batesel, Jodi (Jim) Streit and Joel Brownell; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Hassler of Pine Island and many nieces and nephews.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne and two infant grandsons.
Memorials are preferred to Pine Haven Care Center.
