Genevieve S. Schultz

Genevieve Stewart Schultz, 91, of Red Wing, died Monday, August 26, 2019, at the Augustana Health Care Center in Hastings. She was born May 20, 1928 in Arkansaw, Wisconsin, to Richard and Mary (Bignell) Stewart and attended school in Arkansaw. She moved to Red Wing as a young woman and worked at RW Pottery. On April 20, 1946, she was united in marriage to Virgil Schultz. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the VFW and Legion Auxiliaries. She enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards and taking care of her grandchildren. She was also an avid MN Twins fan and enjoyed watching RW Wingers Hockey games.
She is survived by 4 children, Ron (Judy) of Rochester, Patty Jo Copley of Red Wing, Ricky (Kerry) of Farmington and Robert of Red Wing; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie (Jade) Sherman, Matthew (Bailey) Copley, Michael (Crystal) Copley, Kristen Schultz, Mitchell Copley and David (Kasey) Schultz; 11 great-grandchildren, Allison, Claire, Lucy, Paige, Brock, Nina, Dawson and Isabelle, Amber, Brayden and Maci Jo and 7 siblings, Elwood, Lavina, Evelyn, Catherine, Richard, Lawrence and Darryl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Virgil in 2003; grandson, Ron, Jr. and siblings, Leonard, Nelson, James and Myrtle.
Funeral service will be 1p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek with Rev. Lowell Sorenson officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
