Gloria Mary Augst, 91, of Red Wing, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Valentines Assisted Living in Red Wing. She was born in Hastings, Minnesota to Edward and Dorothy Tintes on December 30, 1927. She was their only child, and the love of their lives. She spent her entire life living between the communities of Hastings, Minneapolis and Red Wing. Gloria's show stopping, stunning beauty and grace always caught your attention. It wasn't long before her sparkling eyes and engaging smile revealed the true beauty in her warm, compassionate, insightful, witty and incredibly caring personality.
Gloria was preceded in death by her sons, David and Bradford Jorgensen; and her husbands, Dan Jorgensen, Russ Lien and D.J. Augst. She lovingly shared stories of each of them, and was grateful to be blessed with her many fond memories. Gloria is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Don) Falk and Laurie Jorgensen, Red Wing. Also her cherished grandchildren Matthew Schmidt, Buffalo City, WI, Brian (Teresa) Schmidt, Red Wing; Ashlyn (Sebastian) Meredith, Georgetown, Texas; great grandchildren, Quentin and Brenden Meredith, and Callie and Warren Schmidt.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to a cause close to you own heart would be meaningful and appreciated.
