Harriet Lillian Deden, 100, of Anoka, previously of Red Wing, died Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Walker Methodist Senior Living in Anoka. She was born in Lake City on July 18, 1918 to Henry and Bertha (Koester) Thomson. She was united in marriage to Norman Deden in 1942. She worked her entire career as an operating room nurse at St. John's Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and being active outdoors and going on walks. She was an active member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two children, Stanley (Joanne) Deden of Andover and Joan (Bill) Wykoff of Clarkston, Washington; three grandchildren, Kyle, Kara, and Jeff; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at First Congregational Church, 1923 N 3rd Ave., Anoka, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. The following day, Monday, June 10, 2019, a memorial service will be at 2 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with Reverend Tyge Zucker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Hay Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Concordia Lutheran Church of Red Wing. Funeral arrangements made by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
