Helen M. Liffrig

November 3, 1925 — December 25, 2018

Helen M. Liffrig, age 93 of Pine Island, formerly of Mazeppa died on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Pine Haven Care Center. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa with Father Randal Kasel celebrating the mass. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday for one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Helen Margaret Meyer was born on November 3, 1925 in Hammond, MN to Louis and Aurelia (Lamb) Meyer. She grew up in Mazeppa and graduated from Mazeppa High School in 1943. On June 6, 1949 she married Wilfrid W. Liffrig at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. They made their home in Mazeppa and Helen was a homemaker, while Wilfrid worked at the Mazeppa Feed Mill. For a number of years, Helen did hairdressing out of her home. In 2007 they moved to Pine Island. Helen enjoyed gardening and canning, cooking, baking, and sewing. Helen was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Mazeppa.
Helen is survived by her son, Mark (Teresa) Liffrig of Pine Island; grandchildren, Laura (Jake) McBroom of Wanamingo, Ben Liffrig of Mazeppa and Matthew Liffrig of Pine Island and great-grandchildren, Aurelia, Violet, Otis and Virgil McBroom.
Helen was preceded in death by her brothers, Chester, Joseph and George Meyer, along with her sister, Dorthelda Musty.
Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
