James Curtis Enevold, 89, of Bay City, died Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Mayo Health System, Red Wing Campus. He was born on September 1, 1934, in Zumbrota to Thelmar and Olga (Hanson) Enevold. He served in the US Marines for four years during the Korean Conflict. On November 13, 1964, he was united in marriage to Lavon Doerr. They resided in Bay City where he was employed by SB Foot Tannery for many years followed by working at Neufeldt Industries for 10 years. Following retirement, he repaired small engines and was always found something to tinker on. He loved attending car shows, working on street cars, gas engines or anything that had an engine. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycling.
He is survived by his wife, Lavon; one daughter, Kim (Brian) Wilde of Camp Douglas, Wis.; four brothers, Richard of Hay Creek, Howard of Bay City, Robert (Nancy) of Red Wing and Jerry Enevold of Bay City; one sister, Carol (Don) Bolland of Arizona; many nieces and nephews along with other family and friends.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
