Janet Marie Lombard

Janet Marie Lombard, 79, of Red Wing, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. She was born in Spooner, Wisconsin on October 25, 1939, to Tony and Emma (Busch) Lombard. Janet graduated from Spooner High School in 1957 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Superior where she received a degree in Elementary Education. Later she would achieve her Masters degree through Winona State. She taught in all of the Red Wing Elementary schools, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed getting together with her many friends, spending time at her cabin in Spooner with Ron, traveling, playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles, couponing and she was, of course, a huge Packer fan.

She is survived by her life-long friend, Ronald Walther of Red Wing, sister-in-law, Ruth Lombard; nephew, Tony (Perri) Lombard of Spooner; great-niece, Caitlin of Duluth; as well as extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob; niece, Stacy; and great-grandnephew, Jordan.

At Janet's request, there will be no memorial celebration. Burial will be at a later date in Spooner, Wisconsin. Memorials are preferred to Red Wing Public Schools Foundation: 2451 Eagle Ridge Drive, Red Wing, MN 55066. Arrangements with the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
