Jeannette Christine Hagen was born September 2, 1918 in Hixton, Wisconsin. Raised in Hixton, she attended Stout College and then moved to Chicago to study meteorology. She moved to Rochester, Minnesota in the early 1940s and became a meteorologist at the Rochester airport, where she met her first husband Henry "Red" Robinson. She was very active in her kids' lives, whether it was Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, church, or school. She was also a host mother to two foreign exchange students. She had an open door policy at her home for family and friends, and she was a wonderful seamstress and cook. In Rochester, she was active in many civic functions. She once said that some of the happiest days of her life were spent on Teepeota Point in Wabasha, where she and her husband once had a home. From 1985 to 2006 her retirement years were spent in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, and she continued to be active in community matters there. She returned to Rochester in 2006.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Jaderborg of Rochester, and Darlene (Mark) Robinson Harmon of The Hague, The Netherlands; a son, John (Sally) Robinson of Menlo Park, California; grandchildren, Peter Winther, Kristen Winther, Matthew Harmon, Lauren Harmon, Colby Harmon, Heidi Robinson Rosengren, and Gretchen Robinson Rawles; two great-grandchildren, Annika Rosengren, and Ainsley Rawles; and a sister, Helen (Lyle) Danielson of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Henry "Red" Robinson and William Mackie; parents, Olaf and Berdine Hagen; a sister Bernice Greeno; and a brother Roger Hagen.
If so desired, memorials may be directed to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Rochester, or to Seasons Hospice.
