Jeffrey Klitzke, 63, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Mayo Clinic St. Marys Campus in Rochester. He was born March 3, 1955 in Red Wing to Vernon and Frances (Swanson) Klitzke. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1973 before going on to study at the Vocational Technical College in Red Wing. He then went to work for the Red Wing Shoe in shipping until an injury forced him to retire after 29 years. Jeff then lived with and cared for his dad full time after his mother passed away. He enjoyed playing league softball and golfing. However, Jeff was a homebody at heart and enjoyed reading and working on crossword books in the company of his cat.
He is survived by his sister, Mary (Danny) Hove of Red Wing and 5 nieces and nephews, Jenny (Brett) Hauschildt, Chris Hove, Andy Klitzke, Michele (Paul) Meyer, all of Red Wing and Scott (Loni) Hove of Arizona.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother James.
A visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing. A short service will follow at 6 p.m. Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
