John Thomas Majerus, of Bellechester, died Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Lake City Nursing Home.
John was born June 13, 1940 in Red Wing , MN, to John C. and Gertrude (Mahoney) Majerus. He was a lifelong resident of Bellechester, MN. In 1966, John married Phyllis Tackmann at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester.
John was a farmer most of his life. After farming John drove an LP truck for Cenex in Wanamingo. He later mixed and sprayed fertilizer for the Wanamingo Co-Op. He and his wife also owned the Bellechester Grocery Store. He liked playing cards, dancing, watching westerns and cutting the grass with his riding lawn mower.
John is survived by his three daughters, Julie (Chris) Bruns of Red Wing, Cathy O'Reilly of Plymouth, MN, Krissy (Kent) Friedrich of Zumbrota; Four grandchildren, Katie and Jenny O'Reilly, McKenna and Alex Bruns; siblings, Pat Mann of Goodhue, Jackie Kane of Hastings, Audrey Baker of Red Wing, Janet Majerus of Rosemount, Greg (Mary) Majerus of Bellechester, Judy (Gary) Lodermeier of Woodbury, Corrine (Neil) Stehr of Lake City; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis (March 1, 2006); and his parents. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Online condolences are welcome and may be written at mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
