Kermit Dicke, 86, of Lake City, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester on July 12, 2020 from injuries as a result of a car accident on July 6, 2020.
Kermit was born on July 18, 1933 in Red Wing, MN to Walter & Amelia (Strusz) Dicke. He went to parochial school in Hay Creek and later attended Red Wing High School. Kermit entered the Army and served from 1954 to 1956. He married his wife Angie Klein on October 11, 1958. Kermit worked at the Goodhue Creamery from 1956 to 1962. At that time they moved to the Klein family farm in Belvidere Township and began farming. They moved to Lake City in 1991. He continued to work on the farm until the day of the accident. Kermit was a member of St. Peter's Belvidere Lutheran Church and over the years served on the church board.
Kermit enjoyed driving throughout the country side looking at the crops. But his favorite pass time was spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Angie; his sons, Daniel (Jean) Dicke, Mark (Leslie) Dicke; his daughters, Deborah (Craig) Henslin, Lynette Dicke (Kyle Erie); 7 Grandchildren, Alex, Mitchell and Elizabeth Dicke, Wayne and Bill Henslin, Jordyn and Emma Dicke; 7 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Verna Schrader and Doris Swanson. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Walter Henslin; 3 brothers, Donald, Wilbert, Earl; 2 sisters, Viola Rohe, Frances Fitschen.
An outside service will be held on Saturday July 18, 2020 at 1pm at St Peter's Belvidere Lutheran Church with the Reverend Steve Frentz officiating. Please bring your own chair. Visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Peter's Belvidere Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
