LaVon Pernella Christian

LaVon Christian, 94, of Red Wing, died Saturday, February 8, 2020, at St. Crispin Living Community. She was born on December 27, 1925, in Red Wing. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1943 and for several years she was employed by SB Foot Tannery. In 1952 she started working at Northern Pacific Railroad, which later became Burlington Northern Railroad, and remained there until her retirement in 1989. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the retired railroad women's group. She enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends.

LaVon is survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerome.

A celebration of LaVon's life will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
