Lois Marie Pruter

Lois Marie Pruter, 81, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, Sept., 4, 2018, at her home. She was born on July 7, 1937, in Red Wing to Chester and Hilma (Duden) Ingeman. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School with the class of 1956. After graduation she worked in the office of the Red Wing Potteries. Lois married the love her life, Lawrence "Bud" Pruter on January 25, 1958, at St. Pauls' Lutheran Church in Red Wing. After raising her family, she worked at Margaret's Shoppe on Bush Street, Myron's Hallmark in the Red Wing Mall and did babysitting for her grandchildren. Bud and Lois also cared for her dad, Chester Ingeman, in their home for many years. When her family was young she was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother. She was member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed dancing, old time music, classic country music, family reunions and most of all loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Getting together with family and friends was always important to her.
She is survived by her husband, Bud, of 60 years; four children, Donald (Diane) Pruter of Lakeville, Donna (Mitchell) Hokanson of Red Wing, Wayne (Dawn) Pruter of Red Wing and Wendy (John) Langdon of Hudson, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Joshua Hokanson, Linsey (Ben) Uphoff, Megan (Eric) Dorr, Kyle Pruter, John Ross (Katherine) Langdon, Jay (Kailey) Langdon, and Allyssa (Tyler) Johnson; 11 great grandchildren, Henry, Theo and Fran Uphoff, Ryder Hokanson, Max and Macy Dorr, John Michael, Mila and Neva Langdon and Carsyn and Kylee Johnson along with many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept., 8, 2018, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Reverend Dana Jackson officiating. Burial will be at the Burnside Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Honorary urn bearers will be her grandchildren. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
