Lottie Louise Kingsbury

Lottie Louise Kingsbury, 78 of Red Wing, died Monday, December 16, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic - Saint Mary's Campus in Rochester. She was born June 10, 1941 to Stanley and Isa (Beran) Lecy in Stewartville, Minnesota. She graduated from Stewartville High School in 1959. After graduation she lived with her future sister-in-law and worked in Rochester. While dancing with friends at a dance hall she met her future husband, James Kingsbury. The couple married in 1962. After living in Kenyon for a short time the couple moved to Red Wing where Jim got a job at the S. B. Foot Tannery. The couple raised three children while Lottie helped her neighbors with daycare. When her youngest was in school full time, Lottie got a job at the Red Wing High School, working in accounts receivable. She retired from the school district in 2003.
She was a member of United Lutheran Church, the Red Men Club and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary where she served as a past vice president. She enjoyed playing cards, golf and bowling. She bowled on the In-Betweener league for many years. When she wasn't socializing, Lottie loved challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She would order them by the case and worked on them until her pen ran dry. She also always had a jigsaw puzzle she was working on. Lottie always kept herself busy and maintained a close circle of friends.
She will be missed by many, including her children; Doug of Red Wing, Colleen (Dennis) Nielsen of Red Wing and Lisa (Donnie) Siepelmeyer of Hager City; 8 grandchildren, Valerie, Jed, Zac, Tisha, Mandy, Aaron and Amber; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; a grandson, Aaron; siblings, Lorraine, Duane, Floyd and Loretta.
