Marcella M. McDonald

April 21, 1922 — April 14, 2018

Marcella M. McDonald age 95 of Kenyon, formerly of Wanamingo passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at District One Hospital in Faribault. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Concord Church of Christ in Old Concord. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Peter at a later date. The family will greet friends and relatives for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marcella Marjorie Ziemer was born on April 21, 1922 in Carver County, MN to Ernest and Hulda (nee Schultz) Ziemer. She grew up on the family farm outside of LeSueur, MN and attended country school. On November 17, 1943 she married Russell E. McDonald at the Church of Christ in St. Peter, MN.
They lived in several communities as Russell worked for different farmers. In 1963 they moved to Wanamingo and Marcella worked at Kid Duds in Cannon Falls and raised the family. Marcella enjoyed camping, fishing, bicycling, sewing and embroidery work, gardening and canning, cooking and she faithfully read her Bible.
Marcella is survived by her children, Gloria (John) Angerman of Hot Springs, AR., Roland (Mary) McDonald of Lyle, MN, Dennis (Linda) McDonald of Hastings, MN., Sharon (Virgil) Pederson of Shell Lake, WI., Marvin (Sue) McDonald of Webster, WI. and Doreen (David) Schultz of Wykoff, MN.; sixteen grandchildren; thirty one great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, LeRoy Ziemer and Curt (Debbie) Ziemer and extended family members.
Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; son, Larry; grandson, Michael; two sisters and three brothers.
Memorials preferred to Concord Church of Christ in Old Concord.
