Milo J. "Bud" Hickey

Milo J. "Bud" Hickey age 85, of Pine Island passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Pine Haven Care Center. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Pine Island with Pastor Carolyn Westlake officiating. Burial with Military honors by Charles Cowden American Legion Post #184 will be in Pine Island Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Milo John Hickey was born on September 28, 1932 in Milton Township, Dodge County, MN to William and Anna (Feil) Hickey. Bud grew up in rural Pine Island and graduated from Pine Island High School in 1950. On June 20, 1954 Milo married Roberta Mae LaRock. Bud worked on the family farm and as a mechanic for Pine Island Auto. He later became a business partner in Pine Island Auto and worked there until 1983 when he went to work for the Pine Island Bus Company. Bud worked as a mechanic and bus driver until he retired in 2003.
Bud was a founding member of the Island Riders Saddle Club and a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows, Charles Cowden American Legion Post #184 and the Pine Island United Methodist Church.
Bud enjoyed horseback riding, being outdoors and spending time with family and grandchildren.
Bud is survived by his wife of sixty three years, Roberta M. Hickey; two daughters, Robin (John) Larsen of Mantorville and Jodi (Larry) Welsh of Elk River; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one brother, Richard (Gail) Hickey of Pine Island.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna and brothers, Dale and Donald Hickey.
Memorials are suggested to the Pine Island United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island.
