Minda L. "Mindy" Tomfohrde

MInda L. "Mindy" Tomfohrde age 53, of Mazeppa died on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in an ATV accident in rural Mazeppa. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. A memorial gathering will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Minda Lynn Seljeseth was born on July 23, 1964 in St. Paul, MN to Larry Melvin Seljeseth Sr. and Judy Ann (Jester) Seljeseth. She grew up in Randolph and Dodge Center. In 1983 she graduated from Dodge Center High School. On September 15, 1984 she married Russell H. Tomfohrde in Dodge Center. They made their home on the Tomfohrde farm. Mindy helped on the farm with the milking and field work. She later started working in food service at Olmsted Medical Center and was currently working in the Admissions Department there. Mindy enjoyed antiquing, country concerts, traveling, having her voice heard as a Union delegate and especially being with her grandchildren. Mindy loved her family from the early years, camping at Forestville with cousins, aunts, and uncles to watching her children's various activities and spending countless hours making memories with her precious grandbabies. When Mindy walked into the room, her smile lit up the room. She was the family social butterfly and made everyone feel welcome and happy.
Mindy was a loving wife, mother and Memaw and is survived by her husband Russell; daughters, Cassandra Benter and Tamara Tomfohrde, both of Mazeppa and the light of her life, her grandchildren, Owen, Caleb and Levi Benter; mother, Judy Seljeseth of Owatonna; siblings, Sarainia Seljeseth of Owatonna, Tisha (Chad) Heinle of Montgomery and Larry (Vicky Goodsell) Seljeseth Jr. of Owatonna; many nieces and nephews; and close friends, Stacy Kiefer and Marie (Larry) Jacob.
Mindy was preceded in death by her father, Larry Melvin Seljeseth Sr.; father and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Gladys Tomfohrde; grandparents and great-grandparents.
Memorials are preferred to Bear Valley Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
