Nancy Hoyt

Nancy Hoyt, 75, of Prior Lake, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Auburn Manor in Chaska. She was born on February 5, 1943 to Elmer and Dorothy (Evans) Peterson in St. Paul. Nancy grew up in Lake City and graduated from the Villa Maria Academy in Frontenac in 1961. She moved to St. Paul where she attended Globe Business College. Upon graduation she worked at Field-Schlick and Brown & Bigelow. In 1968 she married Charles Hoyt. Together they farmed in Gilford Township for almost 25 years. In 1990 they moved off the farm and resided in Lake City, until 2005 when they moved to Prior Lake to be closer to their grandchildren. Nancy's favorite hobbies included researching, writing and collecting information on family history, boating on Lake Pepin and being a grandmother.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Charles, daughter Barbara (John) Dahl of Chanhassen; grandsons Jacob and Joseph Dahl; brother, Bambridge (Joy) Peterson of Barron WI. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Peterson; father Elmer Peterson; step-mother Lillian Peterson; sister Barbara Peterson.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at St Mark's Episcopal Church in Lake City with Reverend Barbara Mathias officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the American Brain Tumor Association. Online condolences can be sent at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
