Ocean-Ian Andrew Christofferson

August 31, 1994 — November 10, 2019

Ocean-Ian Andrew Christofferson, 25, of Red Wing, died Sunday, November 10, 2019 in an early morning house fire. He was born August 31, 1994 in Red Wing to Darwin and Vivian (Lara) Christofferson. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 2013. He was currently working full time at Cranky Ape as well as working part time at Kelly's Bar and Liberty's Restaurant where he had worked since he was 16. He was also a SAL member of the Leo C. Peterson American Legion, Post 54.

Ocean loved to make friends and he was happiest when he was making people laugh. He loved to be around other people even if that meant just wandering around the Mall of America. He enjoyed playing golf and spending his summers tubing on the river. He was daring and an explorer - so long as heights weren't involved. He not-so-secretly enjoyed chick-flicks and singing at the top of his lungs to the Backstreet Boys. He wrote poetry and was just delving into photography. His nickname was Puddle because his friends said he was too small to be an ocean but he lived up to his name; flooding the house he shared with his dad with light and laughter.

Ocean will be missed by many, including his father, Darwin Christofferson of Red Wing; mother, Vivian Christofferson of Florida; siblings, Catherine Christofferson of Red Wing, Christine Ziolkowski of Red Wing and Oliver (Yuchan) Christofferson, currently serving in Japan; 6 nieces and nephews, Sakura, Cameron, Kai, Ashton, Yullana and Lara-Fe; aunts and uncles, many cousins, other extended family and so many friends.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Willie and Ina Christofferson and Cleofe Franco.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019 at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Karl Rydholm officiating. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing and for one hour prior to the service at church.
