Olive Valerie Roome

Olive Valerie Mather Roome, 104, of Oakdale, formerly of Red Wing, died Monday, August 07, 2017 at Oak Meadows in Oakdale. She was born May 1, 1913 in Dixon's Hollow, Livonia, New York to Olin G. and Gladys (Richardson) Mather. She married Henry William Essery Roome on August 30, 1941 in St. Paul. Henry passed away in 1992. The family would like to offer special thanks to the Oak Meadows staff and Health Partners Hospice Care for the excellent care and service they provided to Olive and her family.

Olive is survived by her four beloved children, Louise (Alexander) Roome Klimoff, Richard (Winnie) Roome, Donald (Barbara) Roome and Douglas (Marlene) Roome; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Grove W. Mather, II and George R. Mather; sister, Beryl D. Mather; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Monday, August 28, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church in Red Wing with Father Tristan English officiating. A private family burial will take place at Burnside Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
