An adventurous spirit and a quest for fun, Patricia Stenlund, lived her life to the absolute fullest.
Pat was born in Akron, Ohio on April 9, 1945 and passed away on July 29, 2019 in Goodhue, Minnesota.
Pat grew up in Ohio and attended Buchtel High School. She married her high school
sweetheart, Donald Phillips, on July 23, 1967. She gave birth to her children, Karen, in 1969
and Donald in 1971. Her and her husband sought out a new life by traveling around the
country until they planted roots in Buffalo, Wyoming. They raised their family in various
mountain towns and gave them every opportunity possible. While Pat loved working with
people and loved making new friends, her children were always her main focus.
After her first marriage, Pat set out to show the world that she could achieve anything. She
remained an integral part of the lives of her children and their families.
In 1999, Pat met Neal Stenlund and they married on August 26, 2005. With that marriage, she
gained four adult stepchildren, Lance, Sara, Trevor, and Marie. She loved her life and had many
more traveling adventures. Even after being diagnosed with a debilitating disease, she
continued to experience life to the fullest. Neal not only loved her immensely but dedicated
every hour to taking care of her in her final days.
Pat is survived by her husband, Neal Stenlund, her brother, Robert Lance (Elizabeth), her
children, Karen Vande Kieft (David), Donald Phillips (Amy), her grandchildren, Nicholas Vande
Kieft (Lilia), Mary Vande Kieft, Zoe Vande Kieft, and her great grandchildren, Vaira Vande Kieft,
and Fox Vande Kieft. Pat is also survived by her stepchildren, Lance Stenlund (Amy), Sara
Stenlund (Javier), Trevor Stenlund, and Marie Buchholtz (Aaron), and step grandchildren,
Raelynn Stenlund, Kayla Stenlund, Ashlynn Stenlund, Blake Stenlund, Lilia Stenlund, Spencer
Buchholtz, Claire Stenlund, Vincent Buchholtz. She preceded in death by both of her parents.
Pat was a positive soul who always looked for the opportunity in every situation that came
upon her. She uplifted all who crossed her path.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Mahn Family Funeral
Home - Larson Chapel, 1475 Jefferson Drive, Zumbrota, MN 55992 and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, August 1 at 11:00 AM at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, 308 1st Ave, Goodhue, MN 55027.
