Peter Martin Wedde

Peter Martin Wedde, 69 of Bay City, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at St. Crispin Living Community in Red Wing. He was born on March 20, 1949 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Ferdinand and B. Charlotte (Peterson) Wedde. He grew up in Bowler, Wisconsin where he graduated high school. He entered the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1973. Following his discharge, he bartended for a while before going to technical college where he was certified as an energy conservation technician. After technical college he worked in Virginia as an energy auditor. Eventually, he moved back to the Red Wing area where he worked various jobs. On October 20, 1984 he was united in marriage to Evelyn Berg and they made their home in Bay City. He worked for Red Wing Service Company for many years before deciding to be self-employed. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing, the Harding-Hall-Darrington #357 American Legion Post in Bay City and the 4th Mobile Communication reunion group, as well as a cub scout volunteer while his son was a cub scout. He enjoyed science fiction, working with and creating stained-glass, reading and traveling to meet with his reunion group. He loved fireworks, was inquisitive and curious and enjoyed tinkering with things.
Peter is survived by his wife Evelyn; one son, Kyle of Red Wing; one sister, Marge DuRen of Red Wing; two brothers, Ferdinand (Janine) Wedde of Waupaca, Wisconsin and Michel (Maryann) of New York Mills, MN along with many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald Wedde, an infant brother, Tim Wedde and one sister, Joyce Loveless.

A Celebration of Peter's Life will be 4-7 p.m., Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Harding-Hall-Darrington #357 American Legion Post in Bay City with military honors at 5 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
