Raymond John Schoenfelder

September 16, 1928 — April 19, 2019

The Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond Schoenfelder will be held Tuesday April 23rd at 11:00 AM at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester. The Rev. Thê Hoáng will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Columbkill Catholic Cemetery, rural Goodhue. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Schoenfelder, 90, of Rochester, died Friday April 19, 2019 at his home in Rochester.

Raymond John Schoenfelder was born September 16, 1928 in Kennan, Wisconsin to Rudolph and Anna Schonfelder. He was united in marriage to Helen Guziak on November 5, 1949 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Catawba, Wisconsin. They lived in Wisconsin for many years before moving to Minnesota in 1968.

Raymond had a career in the automotive industry before becoming a machine tool trades instructor at the Rochester Technical College. After retiring he did custom machine work, spent time with his family, traveling, working with machinery, and gardening.

He is survived by 14 children, 61 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. A brother-in-law, Frank Guzak, also survives.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2012, his parents, 12 siblings, an infant daughter Joyce, grandson Brian Bjorngaard, and infant great-granddaughter Kellen Schoenfelder.
