Richard Sprick, age 91 of Lake City died on March 1, 2018 at home in Lake City.
Richard was born on February 14, 1927 the son of Henry and Amanda (Rademacher) Sprick in Lake City. He attended school in Lake City, MN graduating from Lincoln High School. He farmed on the McCahill farm until he was 16 when his family moved to Jacksonville, Gillford Township. He married Vanda Holden on October 27, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City, Minnesota. They lived and farmed in Jacksonville, Minnesota until retiring in 2014. Vanda passed away on October 1, 2014. He invented the Kollarkeeper, which he produced and sold for 10 years. He enjoyed dancing, collecting cars and traveling to Las Vegas. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Richard is survived by his children: Greg (Angela) Sprick of Hager City, WI, Scott (Ann) Sprick of Lake City, MN, Jeff (Lisa) Sprick of Lake City, MN and Kim (Richard) Miller of Buffalo, MN, his grandchildren: Heather Lekatz, Jacob (Jenny) Miller, Jackie (Travis) Dunn, Jeremy (Mary Jane Lecher) Sprick, Joshua (Tara Morseth) Sprick, Amanda (Anthony Oyogoa) Sprick and Cory (Coreen Brown) Grimsley. He is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny (Phyllis) Sprick of Zumbro Falls
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vanda; sister, Rojean Brandecker.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at United Methodist Church in Lake City with Reverend Phillip Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Jacksonville Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 5:00PM until 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and also one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
