Ronnie Hilbert Stumpf, 71, of Red Wing, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, at his home. He was born May 10, 1946, in Red Wing, to Hilbert and Margie (Kuhfuss) Stumpf and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1964. He was united in marriage to Jeanie Donely on November 26, 1966 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Ronnie worked at SB Foot Tanning Company, Goodhue County Highway Department and as carpenter for Gadient Construction. He later became a self-employed carpenter and also did farming at the Flueger farm. He was a life-long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Hay Creek, a past member of the National Guard and a member of the NRA. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, all types of hunting--especially his hunting trips to Canada and Montana. He also enjoyed cars, his family's dogs and spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jeanie; son, Todd (Darla) Stumpf of Red Wing and their children, Dustin and Kayla; daughter, Tara (Brian) Goranson of Red Wing and their children, Molly, Emme and Ellee; brothers, Fred (Cindy) Stumpf and Larry (Annie) Stumpf all of Red Wing; brother-in-law, Doug Callstrom of Red Wing and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nita Callstrom and a nephew, Eric Stumpf.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hay Creek, with Reverend Lowell Sorenson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service all at the church. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
