Ruth M. Comstock age 85 of Zumbrota died on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Zumbrota Care Center. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Michael in Pine Island with Father Randal Kasel celebrating the mass. Burial will be at a later date in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Monday for one hour prior to the mass at the church.
Ruth Marie Morrissey was born on February 26, 1934 in Faribault, MN to Fred and Alma (Weber) Morrissey. Ruth grew up in rural Faribault, attended Bethlehem Academy and graduated from Faribault High School in 1952. On September 2, 1961 she married Thomas L. Comstock in Faribault. They made their home in rural West Concord and together they farmed until their retirement. In 2006, they moved to Zumbrota. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends. Ruth also was active in teaching community education classes, religion classes and volunteering at school.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Thomas; children, Mark (Valerie) Comstock of West Concord, Linda (Todd) Broin of Sioux Falls, SD and Mike (Lisa) Comstock of White Bear Lake; grandchildren, Hannah, Quinn, Lucas, Jared, Jessica, Tommy and Emma; great grandchildren, Riley and Carter; sister, Helen Nusbaum of Faribault and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence, Raymond and Robert Morrissey and sisters, Marian Morrissey, Ethel Warnemunde and Laura Peterson.
Memorials are preferred to the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery Fund.
