Ruth I. Hinderaker

Ruth I. Hinderaker, age 70 of Zumbrota passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at her home in Zumbrota. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 3:00 PM at the United Redeemer Lutheran Church, 560 West 3rd Street, Zumbrota with Pastor Nicole Rockne officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 1:00 -3:00 PM at the church.
Ruth Ingrid Onkka was born on May 13, 1949 in Saint Paul, MN to Robert and Dolores (Johnson) Onkka. Ruth grew up in parsonages in SW Minnesota and Wisconsin. She graduated from Valders High School in Valders, WI in 1967. Ruth attended and graduated from Luther College in 1971 with a BA in Political Science. On February 3, 1973 she married Dale B. Hinderaker. They lived in Northfield before moving to Zumbrota in 1985. Ruth taught piano and organ lessons for forty three years and retired in January of 2019.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Abe Hinderaker of Corvalis, MT; daughter, Betsy Hinderaker (Mike) Paradise of Richfield, MN; grandchildren, Ahren, Mya and Marley Hinderaker and Leo Paradise; father, Robert Onkka of Rochester, MN; sister, Susan Onkka (David) Willig of Grennell, IA and brother, John (Mary) Onkka of Baldwin, WI.
Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, Dolores Johnson Onkka and granddaughter, Angene Paradise.
Memorials are preferred to United Redeemer Lutheran Church or Zumbrota Area Food Shelf.
Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
