Allen Skordahl

Allen Roger Skordahl, 87, of Bay City, died Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City, WI. He was born on April 7, 1938, in Red Wing to Alfred and Harriet (Whipple) Skordahl. He graduated from Zumbrota High School. For over 43 years, he worked as a dedicated employee at the Red Wing Shoe Company never missing a day in all those years. He was married to Darlene Copley and to this union they had two daughters, Linda and Susan. They later divorced. On August 25, 1972, he was united in marriage to Mary Blomstrom. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2008.

Allen enjoyed fishing, karaoke and was a pool shark. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Vikings and the Lynx. Most of all being around his family, especially grandchildren, always brought him great joy along with his cats and other animals.

Allen is survived by his two daughters, Linda Hohmann of Ellsworth and Susan Frandrup (Scott Jones) of Ellsworth; step daughter, Lisa Beck of Red Wing; seven grandchildren, Tejay Skordahl, Cassandra Frandrup, Nick Frandrup, Cory Frandrup, Levi (Kayley) Blomstrom, Spencer Fritz and Austin Fritz; many great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one brother, David (Yvonne) Skordahl of Goodhue and nephew, Lonnie (Stephanie) Skordahl of Goodhue. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary; grandson Tom Skordahl and nephew, Derek Skordahl.

Burial will be at a later date at the Bay City Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
