Arlen McKinley

Arlen Dean McKinley, 71, of Red Wing passed away at home surrounded by family. He was born on January 20, 1954 to Herbert and Mildred McKinley in Red Wing, Minnesota.

Arlen was united in marriage to Loretta "Lori" Lea Bartz on June 17th, 1972 in Wisconsin. Arlen started his career at the Red Wing Shoe Company on May 28, 1975 and was an active member of the AFL-CIO and served as President and Secretary of the Local 527 Union. In his free time, Arlen loved fishing, bowling, and playing cards. He was a family man and loved spending time with family. Arlen especially enjoyed gathering in the garage with family and playing cards while listening to 45's on the record player.

Arlen is survived by his wife, Lori; children, Charitey (Michael Jr.) Hemphill, Amy Jo (Tony) Armour, Corey McKinley, and Jennifer (Brett) Hauschlidt; grandchildren, Isabella Hemphill, Mya Jo Hemphill, Shelby McKinley, Antonio (Michelle) Armour, Coby McKinley, Tanner Diercks, Nieka Armour, Christopher Schwarzhoff, Ashley (Tyler) Theis, Brenna Schwarzhoff, and Mathew Murrilo; great-grandchildren, Tayvis McKinley, Ryder McKinley Johnson, Alayna Armour, Kiara Armour, A'Ziyah Armour, Amari Morris, Kailey Theis, Keegan Theis, Avery Theis, and Molly Mensing; and his siblings, Gary McKinley and Shirley Knudson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mildred; his brothers, Harold and Alan; and his sister, Kathlene.

Celebration of life will be from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th, 2025 at the Red Men Club in Red Wing, Minnesota.
