Barbara Jean Getschmann

Barbara Jean Getschmann, 58, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday November 12,2022 at her home.

Barbara was born on January 2, 1964 to Herbert and Vernis Getschmann, (that years New Year's baby)! She was a lifelong resident of Lake City and a graduate of Lincoln High School. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family, especially on the family farm. She loved watching “Grey’s Anatomy” drama, horticulture, many animals; specifically, her pet fish. Barbara married James McClain, they had one son together and they later divorced.

Barbara is survived by her son, Bradley McClain of Lake City; 2 stepsons, Shain McClain of WI., Josh McClain of Lake City; 4 step grandchildren, Samantha, William, Madyson, and Lacy; 2 sisters, Karen (Richard) Thorie, Kathy (Raymond) Lafferty; 2 brothers, Charles and Randy Getschmann all of Lake City and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Gary Getschmann.

Her special kindness, wit and contagious laughter will be missed by many.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
