Bernadine Ann Anding (“Bunny”), age 81, of Lake City, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, at the Care Center in Lake City, MN.

Bunny was born on August 31, 1944, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Bernard (“Scotty”) and Angeline (“Angie”) Zulsdorf. She grew up in Virginia and graduated from Virginia High School before attending cosmetology school.

On November 6, 1965, she married the love of her life, Fred Anding. Together they shared over sixty beautiful years of marriage, building a life centered around faith, family, and community. They raised two daughters, Jodi (Scott) Fruncek and Staci (Paul) Oliver, and created a home that was always welcoming to friends and loved ones.

Bunny began her career as a hairdresser. She later became the proud owner of the Ben Franklin (Z to A Variety) store in Lake City, where she was deeply involved in the Lake City community and Chamber of Commerce. After her years in retail, she worked at Minnesota State College Southeast, Red Wing Campus, in food service, where she continued doing what she did best caring for others.

A woman of strong faith, Bunny was a devoted member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where she participated in Bible study and church life. She was active in several clubs, including Garden Club and the Women’s Club, and found joy in serving and connecting with others.

Bunny loved spending time at Lake 14 and hosting family gatherings in her home. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, creating beautiful flower arrangements, dancing, and cooking meals that brought everyone together. Above all, her greatest joy was her family. She was known as a “second mom” to many of her daughters’ friends and will be remembered as an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, generosity, and open heart left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Fred; her daughters, Jodi (Scott) Fruncek and Staci (Paul) Oliver; her beloved “more of a sister than a friend,” Sally Niemi; her grandchildren, Austin (Kaily) Bricco, Brandyn (Lexi) Oliver, and Jesse (Samantha) Oliver, Hannah (Laquan) Newell; and her great-grandchildren, Myla, Scottie, and Henry, along with four cherished grand pups. She also leaves behind many relatives and friends, near and far.

Bunny leaves a legacy of love, faith, friendship, and community service that will continue through the many lives she touched.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Lake City Food Shelf.  Arragnements by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel.
