Bonnie Wacker, 58, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Mayo Clinic St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN surrounded by family.
Bonnie was born on August 25, 1966 to Paul Wacker and Sharon (Gerdes) Arms in Red Wing, MN. Sharon then went on to marry Lewis Arms who together raised Bonnie with her siblings in Lake City, MN. Bonnie attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1984. Bonnie attended Saint Cloud and Winona State Universities upon graduation.
Bonnie spent many years of her life in Wabasha, MN. She cooked, bartended, and waitressed at several establishments over her years: Slippery’s, Slip 152, Wabasha Legion, Old Bank, Port 104 and several others. Bonnie loved to cook. Bonnie was known for many things; but her kind heart and generous spirit were the essence of who she was and what she will be known for. Bonnie loved to travel, do crossword puzzles, color, listen to music, hang out with friends & Steve, and loved socializing.
Bonnie is survived by her fiancé, Steve Askvig; 3 sisters, Brenda (Richard) LeVan of Chatfield, Cristy Wacker of Colorado Springs, CO., Barbara Wacker of Lake City; nieces, Kailey (Dan) Lafferty of Lake City, Mckenzie (Drew) Hardtke of Rochester; nephew, Alex Wohlers of Winona; two great nephews, Karsen and Owen Lafferty of Lake City.
She is preceded in death by her son, Anthony, her parents, her stepfather and her brother, Timothy VanMeveren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Port 104 in Lake City on Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 11am - 4pm. She will be laid to rest in Goldfield, IA at a later date. On-Line Condolences may be placed at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
