ROCHESTER ? A private graveside service will be held for Byron W. Brueske at Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Brueske, 83, of Rochester, died Monday (May 8, 2006) at St. Mary?s Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 15, 1922 in Valley City, ND he was raised in the Crosby-Ironton, MN area. On Jan. 17, 1943 he married Aileen Liversage in Brainerd, MN. He served in the US Army from 1943 to 1945 during WWII in Germany and France. He moved to Rochester in 1947 where he served as a Detective with the Rochester Police Department for 23 years. After retirement he operated a Resort on Mille Lacs Lake. Mrs. Brueske died Apr. 28, 1999. Survivors include a daughter Sharon L. Brueske of Rochester; a son Tom (Sharon K.) Brueske of Rochester, a grand daughter Kari K. Brueske of Rochester; a grandson Arron T. Brueske of Florida; three sisters Mary Brix, Loretta McCool, and Dorothy Tortora all of California; and two brothers Albert Brueske of Wimbleden, ND; and Bob (Helen) of California. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Assn. or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Mahn Family Funeral Home ? Rochester Chapel.
