Carol Florence Hegseth (nee: Irvin)

Carol Florence Hegseth of Red Wing, passed away peacefully at Valentine's Assisted Living on August 2, 2026; she was 93 years old. Carol was born on March 14, 1933 in Bellevue, IA to John and Rosina (Mueller) Irvin Sr. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1951, soon after, she married her “high school sweetheart” Chuck on August 4, together they had three children Allan Charles, Sharon Rose and Carl Joseph. Carol worked at Boxruds Clothing Store and later in life after her husband had a debilitating stroke, she went to work full-time at Riedell Shoes Inc; where she worked for 25 years before retiring. Carol loved to read and do crossword puzzles. She was very talented at drawing facial portraits using pencil and charcoal as mediums. Carol was a faithful member of United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Her life revolved around her family; she will be dearly missed.

Carol is survived by her children, Allan Charles (Pam) Hegseth and Sharon Rose (Richard) Holst; grandchildren, Scott (Katie) Hegseth, Lisa Hegseth (significant other Carl Fredrick), Holly Ward (fiancé Josh Ramirez) and Patricia “Tricia” Seeley (significant other Jesse Fox); great-grandchildren, Natalie Hegseth, Sydney Hegseth, Blake Fredrick, Kaylee Fredrick, Cody Christensen, Matthew Ward, Alexus Karlsrud (fiancé Hayden Flack), Abbie Korte, Mitchell Seeley, Allie Seeley and Julia Freeman; great-great-grandchildren, Miles Korte and Rubi Fortner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hegseth; son, Carl Joseph Hegseth; brothers, Robert Irvin, Alfred Irvin, John Irvin Jr, James Irvin Sr; sisters, Gertrude “Trudy” Peterson, Myrtle Rigelman and Virginia Irvin.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11AM at United Lutheran Church, 628 West 5th Street, Red Wing with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing.
