Caroline Kearns

Caroline Marie Kearns, 87, of Hager City, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Lake City Care Center, where she has resided for the past six months. She was born on July 19, 1937, in Red Wing to Henry and Francis (Pohl) Dahling. Caroline was raised on a farm on Cherry Street in Red Wing with her four siblings. She graduated from Red Wing High School. During that time, she worked at the Five-and-Dime Store in Red Wing. She met the love of her life, Norbert Kearns at the Bay City dance hall and they were married on September 6, 1958. For over 20 years she worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company. Caroline enjoyed gardening, traveling, and going to their lake home in northern Wisconsin.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Norbert; three children, Tim Kearns, Gary (Liza) Kearns and Rita (Jim) Brigham; five grandchildren, Chris Rother, Jessica (Kyle) Warner, Kyle (Michelle) Kearns, Megan (Ryan) Hanson and Jenny Howard; eight great grandchildren, Lily and Emma Rother, Jay, Kylie and Isaac Kearns, Lacey and Avery Hanson and Lliam Howard along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, David Kearns; siblings, Richard, Doris, Kermitt and Orville “Bud” and daughter-in-law, Nanette Kearns.

A private burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
