Charles "Chuck" Johansen

Charles "Chuck" Johansen age 78 of Lake City passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home.
Chuck was born January 20, 1934 in Reedsburg, WI to William & Ruth (Neumann) Johansen. Chuck grew up in the Reedsburg area and graduating from Reedsburg High School in 1952. In 1953 he married Joan Nachreiner and they later divorced. Chuck worked as Foundry Superintendant at Grede Foundry in Reedsburg, WI. He married Judith Dreier October 5, 1991 in LaCrosse, WI. In 1994 he retired from Grede after 41 years and moved to Wilton, WI. He served on the Wilton Village Board, President of the Wilton Library Board and President of the Wilton Lions Club. He also served on many committees of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilton. In 2007 he and Judith moved to Lake City. Chuck worked part time for the Lake City Marina and was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lake City. One of his great passions was the Mississippi River, spending many years boating with family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his wife Judith of Lake City; 3 daughters, Pamala(Mark) VanHazinga of Minneapolis, MN, Julie (Steve) Dayiantis of Chicago, IL, Sherri (Tom) Nachtigal of Winona, MN; 4 sons Kurt (Jean) of LaValle, WI, Robert (Nancy) of LaValle, WI, Jerry (Sue) of Reedsburg, WI, Scott (Sonja) of Lyndon Station, WI; 12 grandchildren; one step-son, Brad Biscobing of Sparta, WI; 3 brothers William Johansen of Beloit, WI, Ralph (Shirley) Johansen of Madison, WI, George (Margaret) Johansen of Lancaster, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Orlue Johansen.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM February 25, 2012 at First Lutheran Church in Lake City with Rev. Darren Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Home Cemetery in Norwalk, WI at a later date. Friends may call one hour before the services at the church. Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund. Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson - Peterson Chapel Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
