Charles Kasmer Pelowski

Charles Kasmer Pelowski, 70, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at his home.

Chuck was born on November 7, 1955 in Red Wing, MN to Gene & Mary (Dean) Pelowski. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1974. Chuck married Carla Anderson on February 1, 1990.

Chuck always said he grew up on a golf course and his dad had told him if you work on a golf course you will never get in trouble. Although in his younger years he did like to push the limit by tying strings unto army men and lowering them out the class room window at St. Joe’s to the class below. Thus, resulting in disciplinary action of copying a page in the dictionary, which he said he never finished.

He loved spending time with family and friends. Many weekends would involve golf cart riding, listening to the Rolling Stones (he absolutely loved them), drinking Budweiser, which he referred to as Pepsi and having sleepovers, so everyone was safe and we could do it again in a couple of weeks.

Golf was a passion and was in his DNA. He loved to brag about him and his partner being two-time champs at Mount Frontenac’s Tuesday Night Men’s League (should have been three, but someone missed a putt).

Many hours were spent boating on Lake Pepin, riding in the side by side, watching the Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves games. He loved being outside, so when he set up the TV set in the garage, which is known only as the Voodoo Lounge, life was perfect.

Chuck was a good helper with household duties, a great caregiver for his buddy Whistler, a great husband and fun person and friend. He is loved and missed by many.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Carla; brothers, Gene and Reg (Mary) Pelowski; niece and nephews, Gene Paul, Ryan, Regis, Megan; great nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Abigail, Teagan and Clara; brother-in-law, Dave Hardy; sister-in-law’s, Judy Platte, Tammy Anderson; and his golden retriever, Whistler.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother & father-in-law, Dorothy & Luther; sisters-in-law, Deb Pelowski and Diane Hardy; brothers-in-law, Morris Plate and Mark Anderson.

A time of sharing memories of Chuck will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at 12 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City. Visitation will be from 11 to 12 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Lake City.
