Cheryl Sue Kohrs

Cheryl Sue Kohrs, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Lake City, MN. Wednesday, February 21, 2024.

Cheryl was born on January 21, 1948 in Lake City, MN to William & Melva Kohrs. She was baptized at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Lake City and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Lake City.

Cheryl was born with downs syndrome and lived at Great River Homes in Lake City for 46 years. She was cared for by a loving staff and had many friends. Having a strong work ethic, she was active throughout the community and worked at Pro-Act in Red Wing for 35 years. On weekends, she loved coming out to her home in the country. There she enjoyed time with her family, going to church and especially her coffee, cookies, and magazines. She was able to travel with her family and went on many outings with the group home.

The Lord blessed Cheryl with an abundance of love. She always had a big hug and kiss for everyone.

Cheryl is survived by two brothers, James (Hea-Sun) of California, Dale (Sharleen) of Lake City; two sisters, Gerolyn New (David) of Australia and Donna Harrison (Steve) of Lake City; Eight nieces and nephews; Twelve great nieces and nephews, staff, and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, William & Melva Kohrs and one brother David.

A Memorial Services will be held at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church of rural Lake City, Saturday, April 27^th at 11 am with Pastor Daniel Reich officiating. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
