Constance Nelson

Constance L. Nelson, 79, of Red Wing, died peacefully on Sunday February 1, 2026, at Elysian Fields of Red Wing, surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born April 7, 1946, in Red Wing to Anthony and Barbara (Burns) Gieger. She grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1964. She continued her education for cosmetology in Rochester. On August 13, 1966, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and soulmate Robert Nelson. They were blessed with three daughters, Chrissy, Teri and Kim. They resided in Red Wing where she worked a few years as a hairdresser and also at several retail stores. For many years she was a wonderful babysitter for her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Connie was a very crafty. She loved and had a gift for crocheting , sewing along with other craft work. She looked forward spending time with her family, tending to her flowers and traveling.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 59 ½ years, Bob; three daughters, Chrissy (Tim) Redding of Trego, WI, Teri (John) Orr of Elkader, IA and Kim Larson of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Jessica (Bill) McMahon, Tanner (Kevin) Redding, Chase (McKenna) Redding, Luke (Miranda) Orr, Laci (Kyle) Beck and Lane Orr; five great grandchildren, Ella and Leo McMahon, Audrey and Bridget Orr and Liam Beck along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Delores Gieger; sister, Louise Gieiger; son-in-law, Mike Larson; great grandchild, Geneva Elizabeth Orr and brother-in-law, Curt Dille.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Hospice. Arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing.
