Dale Lee Barghusen, 71, of Lake City died Thursday, July 4, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was born on September 14, 1952 to Rodger and Betty (Deede) Barghusen in Lake City, Minnesota. Dale lost his mom, Betty, at an early age and was raised by his step-mom, Gloria Holst, from the age of 14.

Dale graduated high school and was united in marriage to Janet Hagedorn on November 15, 1986 in Lake City, Minnesota. He worked for 47 years for Fed. Mogul, which changed hands many times during his time there. From the age of 21 he also owned and operated a backhoe business, digging basements, putting in septic systems, and hauling dirt and gravel. In his free time and younger years, he enjoyed drag racing with his buddies at Amber Green in Wisconsin. Dale also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Lake City Sports Club and the Wells Creek Riders Snowmobile Club. Dale loved spending time with his kids and grandkids at his permanent spot, of 20 years, in Jellystone Warren, Wisconsin.

Dale is survived by his wife, Janet Barghusen; children, Joshua Hagedorn and Justin Barghusen, both of Lake City; and grandchildren, Carter, Kalynn, Jacob, and Eisen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodger and Betty; his step-mom, Gloria; his parents-in-law, James Sr. and Helen; and his brother-in-law, James Hagedorn Jr.

A celebration of life in memory of Dale will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12th, 2024 at the VFW Post 8729 in Lake City, Minnesota. Burial will take place at a later date at Bethany Cemetery in Lake City. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
