Daniel Haberman, 69, of Zumbrota, died Saturday, October 18, 2025.
He was born June 30, 1956 in Heron Lake, Minnesota to Herbert and Virgina (Cooley) Haberman. He grew up in Wanamingo and graduated from Wanamingo High School, class of 1975. Following graduation, he went on to work at Foldcraft where he met his wife, Nancy Kelley. The couple married on May 19, 1979 in Waterville. Together, they raised two children.
In 1982, Dan graduated from Red Wing Vo-Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He would work for Doane Grain for five years before starting a 30-year career as a truck driver for Ag Partners. Not one for idle hands, even while working full time, Dan had a number of side gigs throughout his working life. He had an early morning paper route that he let his kids tag along on, he did janitorial work for local businesses, and also cleaned local elevators.
Dan loved to spend time working in his shop, whether exploring woodworking or just tinker with mechanical things. He loved awing over his gun collection. Most of all he loved taking them out shooting with his son, Brandon.
He liked to vacation with his wife and kids. Every year they would spend time in the Duluth area and he and Nancy once took a memorable cruise to the Bahamas. He enjoyed reading and watching movies, especially old sci-fi and war themed history flics. He loved the oldies and singing along with Elvis.
His smile was as genuine as his heart—bright, comforting, and impossible to forget.
Most of all, Dan was so proud of his family. He loved every minute he had with his children and grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his family, including his wife, Nancy; daughter, Vanessa (Shane Arendt) Haberman; son, Brandon (Aubrey) Haberman; 4 grandchildren, Liam, Mason, Vivian, and Kaydan; sisters, Diane (Larry) Plank and Sue Hauschildt; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
