Darius Daniel Sievers

Darius Daniel Sievers, 23, of Red Wing, died at home on Friday, July 28, 2023. He was born in Louisiana and adopted by Lise Sievers at 18 months old.

He graduated from the Red Wing Central High, School Special Education program in 2021. He was loved by both his classmates and teachers. Darius loved to sit outside on the porch swing and watch the cars go by. He also loved to play ball. He enjoyed throwing the ball for his dog Buck. He also liked the neighbor’s apple tree for much the same reason. He would gather up the fallen apples and then entertain himself by throwing them out again. Most of all, Darius loved to eat. Like most of us, he really appreciated a good meal. He was a special little boy who was very much loved.

He required round the clock care and some of his home health nursed were with him for nearly his whole life. He will be missed by many including his mother, Lise; siblings, Roger (Renee) Sievers, Jessica Sievers, Ryan Sievers, Jennifer (LaPrice) Ali, Cathy Sievers, Lakesha Sievers, Latesha Sievers, Marcus Sievers, Arianna Sievers, Shaelynn Sievers and Sarah Sievers; 5 nieces and nephews, Elijah, Abigale, Hannah, Anthony, Serenity, Kenya, and Willow.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; and brothers, Zach and Francis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Mary Brigh Adult ICU in Rochester for the close care and comfort they provided Darius and his family. They would also like to thank Red Wing Mayo Hospice for the help and support that made it possible for Darius to be home with his family.
