Darlene Griese

Darlene Rosalie Griese, 88, of Red Wing, formerly of Richfield, Minn., passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025 at Deer Crest Senior Living with her husband, David, by her side.

She was born on April 11, 1937 to Alvin and Mabel (Puppe) Post. After graduating from Red Wing Central High, class of '55, she moved to St. Paul and attended the School of Cosmetology. She was a beautician for several years before she met her love, David. They were united in marriage on October 11, 1975. She changed careers and worked at Control Data for 19 years as an administrative assistant.

Darlene enjoyed making greeting cards, gardening, shopping and traveling. She and David went to Ireland, Germany and Hawaii several times.

She is survived by her husband, David; her sister, Marlys (Marcy) Kenall; nieces, Mary Kenall, Ann (Jad) Lunde; nephews, Scott Kenall and Mark (Brenda) Kenall.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Mabel Post.

The family will hold a private ceremony at a later date. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
