Darlene Ruth Tomhave

Darlene Ruth Tomhave, 83, of Red Wing, died at Kingsway Retirement Community in Belle Plaine on October 14th where she had resided for the past seven years. She was born on June 29, 1943, in Red Wing to Norman and Emma Charlson, where she grew up on their farm on Spring Creek in Burnside Township. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1961. On August 7, 1965 she was united in marriage to Jack Tomhave. Along with raising their son, Daniel, she worked at various positions, including the Red Wing Shoe Company corporate office and the Goodhue County Community Health Services. She was an avid collector of Red Wing Pottery and a long-time active member of the Red Wing Collector's Society. She also enjoyed traveling in her years of health during retirement with Jack and spending time and making memories with her grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her son, Daniel (Stacy) Tomhave of Mankato; grandchildren, Tyler Tomhave of North Mankato and Caleb Tomhave of Mankato; her brother, Norman Charlson, Jr of Blaine; and her nephews and nieces, Daren (Sonja) Tomhave, Randall (Lyn) Charlson, Gregory (Lisa) Charlson, Teresa Charlson, Charles (Lisa) Charlson, Lisa (Bruce) Priehn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Tomhave; and siblings, Arnold (Janet) Charlson and Delbert Charlson.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2026 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Sternberg presiding. Visitation will be held one hour before the funeral service at the church. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery.
