On July 31st, 2025 our world lost a very kind, loving and generous man. He lived the last two and half years of his life in hospice at their home in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. Darrell died surrounded by his loving wife of 56 years, Vicki, and two of his many faithful caregivers, Sherry and Ashley. Darrell's life began in Hibbing, MN on October 6th, 1944, the fourth child of August "Gus" and Alice Musech. He graduated from Hibbing High School in 1963. Darrell joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and would be stationed in Austin, Texas at Bergstrom Air Force Base. In December 1966 he volunteered to go to Vietnam. Upon returning from Vietnam he worked for Allied Aviation at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport where he met his wife, Vicki. Darrell also worked for Koch Refining in Rosemount, MN and Edina Public Schools where he finally retired. Darrell was an avid indoorsman and loved volunteering at St. Kevin's Catholic School as the Athletic Director and at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. Darrell loved people and enjoyed telling jokes to anyone who would listen.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, August and Alice, brother Ron, nephew Mike Musech, Goddaughter Alison Musech and many aunts and uncles. Darrell is survived by his wife Vicki, son Charles (Denise), daughter Kari Koski (Ken), grandsons Konnor Koski and Keegan Koski (Marisa), brother Auggie (Bernice), sister Judy Musech, aunt Verdella Musech and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Minneapolis VA Medical Center (specify General Fund, VA Food Pantry or Fisher House), Folds of Honor, Helping Paws (Eden Prairie, MN) or Doctors Without Borders. Everyone who knew Darrell would know that he would want this obituary to end with, "See you round like a donut and don't turn square."
