David E. "Dave" Walters

Rochester
March 19, 2024, unexpectedly at home.
He was born June 19 th , 1964, in Wilmar, MN. His parents were Emery and Linda
(Mathen) Walters of Rochester, MN. He was confirmed on October 14 th , 1979, at Holy
Cross Lutheran Church and then graduated from John Marshall High School in June of
1983. Dave then graduated from Rochester Area Vocational-Technical Institute in
January 1986.
Dave married Stacy (Safford) Walters in 1987, they later divorced. He then married
Christine (Rabine) Walters on November 19, 1994. During both marriages he has had
four beautiful children. Jacob (Candice) Walters, Heather Walters, Samantha (Ben)
Walvatne (Ben), and Bailey Walters. His grandchildren include Hadley, Coleson, Angel,
Lucca, and a new one to be born in October of this year.
He was a journeyman plumber for Local 6 Plumbers and Steamfitters in Rochester, MN
for 11 years. He then went on to start his own business in 2011 called S&B Services of
Rochester, LLC. He named the business after his children Sam and Bailey. He went on
to help others above and beyond to help those in need. Anyone needing advice always
called on him.
Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish, and he involved his children
to share that joy with him. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants
Forever and regularly donated to the cause of wildlife so his children and grandchildren
could benefit from the passion of hunting and fishing. He had an acreage in South
Dakota that was his place to relax, hunt and fish with friends and family. It was important
since his jobs were very highly demanding on him.
Dave was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. He was involved
in the building committee there and was deeply involved in his faith. He always talked
about his faith in Jesus Christ as his savior.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, his children, and grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his parents, and brother Steven.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Redeemer Lutheran
Church in Rochester. The Rev. Adam Koglin will officiate. The visitation will be one hour
prior to the service. There will be a luncheon after the service for close friends and
family.
