David Michael Gish

David Michael Gish, 69 of Brooklyn Park, MN, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2025, at his home after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born September 10, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to Gerald and Doris (Androli) Gish. His family moved to Remer, Minnesota where he graduated from Northland High School in 1975. After high school he worked in Grand Rapids and later moved to Texas with some of his siblings. Eventually he moved back to the metro area where he worked at Transportation Electronics. While working he met his future wife, and on September 28, 1985, he married Christine Hermanson at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Bloomington. Together they had a daughter, Stephanie and made their home in Brooklyn Park.

David had a distinguished 40-year sales career with Abrasives of St. Paul and has spent the past four years enjoying his retirement. David had a wide array of interests that enriched his life. He had an unwavering love for music and was celebrated as a great dancer. His love for the outdoors led him to enjoy fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed gaming and spending time on his computer and iPad. Whether he was finding new blogs to read, doing yard work, or tinkering in his garage, David approached every activity with enthusiasm. He found immense joy in making others laugh, and family was the cornerstone of his existence. He and Chris enjoyed traveling and being with their family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Chris; their daughter, Steph (Micah Yarco) Gish; mother, Doris Gish; siblings, Jennifer Gish, Steve (Terri) Gish, Betsy (John) Mahn, and Amy (Dave) Andersen; sister-in-law, Nancy Putnam; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; mother and father-in-law Carol and Clayton Hermanson.

A funeral service and celebration of David's life will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025 with a visitation two hours prior to the service at Evans-Nordby Funeral Homes 34 2nd St. NE, Osseo, MN 55369.
