David Edmund Pete

David Edmund Pete, 76, of Red Wing, passed away at Woodlyn Heights Senior Living in Inver Grove Heights on May 4, 2026. He was born on March 20, 1950 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Nicholas and Joyce (Merritt) Pete. After graduating high school, David worked at the sawmill, in carpentry, security, and other various jobs. He helped build the Seventh Day Adventist church in Red Wing.

He is survived by his former spouse, Cheryl Pete of Red Wing; ten children, Cheryl “Cheri” (Tony) McDonald of Red Wing, Ruth (Gene) Sunshine of Red Wing, Sarah Reyes of Red Wing, David “Davey” Pete of Red Wing, Daniel “Dan” (Renée) Pete of Prescott, Joshua “Josh” (Katrina) of Farmington, Beth Pete of North Carolina, Judith “Judy” Wilson of Spring Valley, Becky (Kaleb) Pete of Cannon Falls, and Joel (Whitney) Pete of Wanamingo; 14 grandchildren, Shelby, Atlas, Allie, Michael, Kyle, Lydia, Alex, Christopher, Sam, Kaylee, Callie, Sohpia, Peyton, and Mckenzie; siblings, Anthony “Tony” Pete of Round Lake, and Joyce (Branden) Kolb of Rochester.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nicholas “Nikky” Pete; Robert “Bob” Pete, Leonard Pete, and Joseph “Joe” Pete.
