Dennis Lynn Haines, 77, of Red Wing and formerly of Northfield, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 19, 1948, in Rochester, MN, to Essary Joe and Bernita Lillian (Geerdes) Haines. Throughout his life, Dennis was known for his unwavering faith, kindness and tender nature. On October 10, 1964, he was baptized, starting his lifelong service as a faithful witness of Jehovah. His devotion was not simply a matter of belief—it was reflected in the way he lived. For many years, he volunteered his time and energy, serving as an elder and a minister of the good news. In June 1969, Dennis married Janet Lorraine Sally, and together they made their home in Red Wing, serving as full-time volunteers in Bible educational work. To support his family, Dennis started a part‑time commercial cleaning business, in the Red Wing area. In 1975, the family moved to Northfield, where they raised their children and Dennis expanded his business, continuing to serve numerous local businesses. Dennis lived a life marked by tenderness, generosity and devotion—to his faith, to his family, and to his friends. His family always felt his steady presence and love. Dennis enjoyed many enriching friendships, and had a good-natured sense of humor. He enjoyed simple pleasures: traveling, playing golf, riding his bike—always finishing with an ice cream cone—and both watching and playing baseball. These moments reflected his appreciation for life’s joys and his desire to share them with the people he loved.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Janet Haines and 3 children; Dennis Lynn (Michelle) Haines, Jr., Amber Jillian (Micah) Wiederholt and Nicole Kathleen (Charlie) Roen; 6 grandchildren, Taylor (Shelby), Kylie (Levi), Alexis, Madelyn, Teigan and Isley; siblings, Brenda (Tom) Toman and Jeffrey (Cindy) Haines and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Red Wing. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
