Dennis Keith LongElk, Sr. 25, of the Prairie Island Indian Community started his journey with his creator on August 31, 2015. He was born on May 8, 1990, in Minneapolis to Tammy Wells and Marshall LongElk. He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis and later moved to Red Wing. His sense of humor and his infectious laugh and smile will be missed by many.
Survivors include his children, Aniyah, Dennis Jr. and Deon LongElk; mother of his children, Angel Martin of Minneapolis; his mother, Tammy (Rickey) Wells Garcia of Welch; his father, Marshall LongElk of Milaca; sisters, Tasha (Zach) Stately of Welch, Shanice LongElk, Tilena LongElk and Larissa LongElk all of Minneapolis and many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dennis and Debbie Wells and step-father, Michael Harris.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 4, 2015 at the Prairie Island Community Center. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Thursday, September 3 until the time of the service on Friday all at the community center. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
